The practice

LINN | PRESS has been active in the contemporary art market as collectors, curators, advisors, educators, and authors since 1980. As collectors, we were early identifiers of such “contemporary masters” as Richard Prince, Cindy Sherman, Allan McCollum, Louis Lawler, and Sherrie Levine. We have been active supporters of the careers of Angela Bulloch, Peter Doig, Stan Douglas, Zoe Leonard, John McCracken, Jason Rhoades, Kay Rosen, Dieter Roth, Diana Thater, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Luc Tuymans, Dan Walsh, Franz West, T.J. Wilcox, and Christopher Williams.

More recently, we have been advocates for a new generation of North American and European talent, including Walead Beshty, Matthew Brannon, Wade Guyton, Adam Henry, Charline von Heyl, Nathan Hylden, Jacob Kassay, Jutta Koether, Jason Matthew Lee, Seth Price, Josephine Pryde, Sterling Ruby, Borna Sammak, Cole Sayer, Valerie Snobeck, Kyle Thurman, Kelley Walker, and Damon Zucconi.

As our consulting practice has grown and as the art market has evolved, especially following the economic reset of 2008, our clients have sharpened their interests on superior quality and value. We still thrill at identifying and developing the careers of emerging and mid-career talent. Yet, there is increased demand for exceptional works of contemporary art that are likely to retain or appreciate in value.

LINN | PRESS is a relationship-based firm, emphasizing open conversations and transparent business transactions. We have worked with clients in several major US cities and their suburbs, including New York, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Miami. Since 2006, we have actively advised clients in Cologne, London, Mexico City, Moscow, Munich, Paris, and Vienna.
